“Project Runway” airs each Thursday night on the ‘Lifetime’ cable TV network at 9/8 p.m. (Check your local listings). It is the 8th episode & the design contestants were paired up by the judges in this week’s challenge. On Thursday night Mar. 14, 2013 the competition was a ‘disaster’ all the way around. Host Heidi Klume was disappointed in all the designers. She stated that, “I think we should wrap this show early & I think you’re all out.” Patricia, Daniel, Stanley & Michelle were on the ‘Shades of Grey’ team. Amanda, Samantha, Layana & Richard were on the ‘Slick & Hip’ team. None of them worked as “team players” which is the theme for this 11th TV season. Amanda was on the losing team & she knew she was going to be sent home. She was right. Richard was saved, but Heidi told him it was, “Barely.”
According to the official website of “Project Runway” the synopsis of episode 8 (Take it all off!) is right here, - “3/14/2013. It's about to get really hot in the work room and on the runway when the design teams must create outfits for the world famous male revue “Thunder from Down Under.” For the first time ever - Judge Nina Garcia is left speechless. Actress Emmy Rossum serves as guest judge.”
Richard broke down & cried then decided to work for himself. Layana chose to break from her team & ask advice of Stanley who wasn’t her teammate. Right from the start Michelle took over her team & aggressively made her own choices. She & Stanley clashed at one point. Amanda & Samantha just tried salvaging their own designs because Richard wouldn’t listen to them. Patricia spent too much time on her shirt top & wanted to help her team, but it was too late.
Michelle, Layana & Amanda were talking to each other in the ladies restroom & played their high school girl ‘click’ game. It is unbelievable that they are supposedly grown women. Michelle proclaimed that Patricia was going home because she obviously didn’t want to help her teammate. At one point - Michelle thought about Patricia & said, “S***!” Her hatred of Patricia is now getting more personal than just Patricia’s fashion designs. Patricia tried to compliment Michelle at the end of the episode, but Michelle just didn’t even look at her.
The ‘Shades of Grey” team designs didn’t even tear when the male strippers took off their clothes. The clothes designed by the ‘Slick & Hip’ team ripped off smoothly & beautifully. Heidi Klume stated though that “I really couldn’t wait for them to take their clothes off.” That is how bad all the fashion designs were to her & she reprimanded everyone. This week’s challenge was a big disappointment for all the judges. There was no winning designer this week which was a first for "Project Runway."
Native American designer Patricia Michaels is heading to the 9th round on "Project Runway" with a new challenge, another guest judge & more fashion designs.
