'Project Runway:' Clothing for male dancers

On last night’s episode the remaining 8 designers were divided into 2 teams, Team Shades Of Grey had Stanley, Michelle, Daniel and Patricia; Team Slick And Hip had Amanda, Richard, Layanna and Samantha. Their challenge was to create comfortable and suitable outfits for men who are part of Thunder From Down Under dance group.

The designers were taken back by the challenge because not only are they all more comfortable designing for women, but these men were not your typical physical man, they had broad shoulders, well developed arms and legs, and yet their waist was just a size 32. They tackled the work at hand with gusto, however, with much disagreement and reservation along the way. The finished products even for the non-designing type were disastrous, the lengths were bad, the shirt’s collars seemed as though they had been washed in hot water and thrown in the dryer, because they looked misshapen, wrinkled and disproportioned.

Team Shades Of Gray, as Heidi told them, came out on top not because their clothes were better, but only because the other team’s were worse. That meant that one of its members would be eliminated, and to the disappointment of many, Amanda was named as the new designer out of the competition.

“Project Runway” runs on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. EST. on Lifetime
