Rained out a week ago, Project Purr’s “world famous” rummage sale is this weekend. If you’ve never been, treat yourself to a day of bargain hunting while every quarter or dollar you spend goes directly to Project Purr's spay/nueter program.

What’s your favorite rummage sale find and aren’t you about due for another? The corner of Soquel Drive at Thurber Lane in Santa Cruz will be jam-packed with everything from clothing and toys to antiques and books, as well as a lot of everything in between.

Friday is the big drop-off day. Project Purr accepts donations on Friday only so bring whatever it is you wish to donate to the Soquel/Thurber corner between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm on Friday, June 10th.

Saturday and Sunday are all about shopping. Past years have proven that the best items go quickly so there is always a race to the merchandise the moment the gate opens at 7:00 on Saturday morning. Sunday’s big day starts at 8:00 am when there are always great deals on whatever wasn’t sold on Saturday.

Project Purr holds two rummage sales a year on the weekends nearest Memorial Day and Labor Day. If you can’t make it this weekend, for cat’s sake, don’t miss the Labor Day event.

Project Purr’s important programs include spay/neuter services for feral cats in Santa Cruz County, which is where proceeds go from their giant rummage sales.
