Project Green Search is looking for the next top eco-model

If you're an eco-conscious fashionista, Project Green Search is looking for you.

Project Green Search, started as an education and fundraising arm of Greenloop, has a clear mission: to inspire people to align their careers with "environmental, social and humanitarian ethics" with the goal of connecting concerned citizens with sustainable businesses and organizations.

The 2009 Green Model Search entry period spans from August 7 to September 16. The 10 finalists will then be chosen by public vote between September 17 and 24, and the winners will be announced September 25 and invited to walk the runway during Portland Fashion Week as a final test.

The winner of this year's Project Green Search will receive a handsome prize package including a complete make-over, an Eco-Fashion wardrobe, and cover shots and spreads in several magazines.

And the celebrity panel of judges is almost as exciting as the extensive list of prizes, including names like Summer Rayne Oakes (the original green model), Deborah Lindquist (creator of the Deborah Lindquist eco-friendly clothing line) and Starre Vartan (eco-fashion advocate and well-known author and blogger).

I'd really love to see an eco-conscious Des Moinian betty take the top spot, so enter today! After all, Jack Kerouac once said that the most beautiful girls were from Des Moines, so that has to count for something.

For more info: Visit Project Green Search online to learn more about how to enter, the rules, prizes, sponsors and more.
