Progressives: protest the banned Obamacare ad!

National TV networks ABC and NBC recently refused to run an ad produced by a national non-partisan 501(c) 4 non-profit organization, the League of American Voters, that features a neurosurgeon's warning that government-run healthcare will lead to rationing of procedures and medicine. (Fox News)

ABC labeled the ad "partisan" but ironically had no problem with running a highly partisan special primetime healthcare puff-piece on the same subject last June, which presented the Obama-lover's version of healthcare, breathlessly hosted by one of their own directly from the White House.

For decades the political right has accused the MSM of being in the hip pocket of the left. Now that they're openly championing the left side of a debate while refusing to air the right side's response, the relationship appears to be even closer than hip pocket deep – ABC in particular is comfortably snuggled deep into the Obama administration's underwear.

As all news nerds and political pundits know by now, on June 24, 2009, the network positioned itself as a pliant underling of the Obama Regime by providing a free glorified infomercial for Obamacare called Prescription for America, which was preceded by gratis promotional hoop-la, pro Obama plan palaver on Good Morning America, Charles Gibson anchoring World News Tonight from the Blue Room of the White House, and followed up by more free exposure on the ABC late night "news" show Nightline. – Dallas Libertarian Examiner, ABC: the Administration for Brain Control

So where is that highly vaunted Fairness Doctrine the left loves so much? Why aren't they demanding that "both sides" of this debate be heard? Where's that principled commitment to equality and diversity and tolerance they go on and on about?

Their hero, President Barack Obama, has publicly committed to making his administration the most open and transparent in history. That can only happen if all voices are given a hearing so that all concerns can be candidly and caringly debated.

So here is the direct challenge to all you Americans who call yourselves progressives:

Why aren't you demanding that the TV networks run the League of American Voters Obamacare ad? Why aren't you demonstrating outside the networks' headquarters?

While libertarians understand that privately owned networks have the right to broadcast what they wish, you normally don't agree with that. So why haven't you framed this ban as a class warfare issue like you usually do?

What has happened to your advocacy for the vulnerable and the poor and the underprivileged and the disadvantaged? Why are you not speaking up for them? If Obama's plan really will result in the rationing of life-saving procedures and meds for the weakest and neediest amongst us, as it has in every country in the world with similar plans, why aren't you demanding that your most at-risk constituents be told about it?

If nothing else, at least speak up "for the children." They will suffer the most from rationing and shortages.

Come on, progressives, show us how you're so much more enlightened and superior and free-thinking than those tobacco-spittin' far right wingnut hick Republicans and those fringe-dwelling anti-government utopianistic capitalist-hugging libertarians.

Get out there and expose the evil government-controlled corporate media and demand everyone's right to hear the whole story about Obamacare.

Put simply, do you progressives really care about people as you claim or are you just blind one-sided ideologues?

This is progressivism's big chance to prove to everyone that liberal Democrats are somehow different from the conservative Republicans that libertarians left behind years ago.

See you on the barricades, liberal radicals!

Still ANOTHER of a grwoing list of reasons to toss that worthless TV in the putrid, stinking trash where it belongs.

Life is better without TV. TV news is for ignorant idiots who can't think for themselves.

FACT: Obama predicted a $7 trillion budget shortfall, but now raised it to $9 trillion. Why was he off by so much? Because he’s incompetent and/or a liar. And don’t be surprised if the actual deficit is far greater than $9 trillion.

FACT: Obama has been lying about healthcare, cap-and-trade, and just about everything else that comes out of his mouth. We can’t believe a word he says.

CONCLUSION: Obama is clearly incompetent and/or extremely dishonest. Why does he want to lead the USA down this destructive path? The Dems in Congress are no better, and we should throw most of them out of office. And here’s one more final FACT: Our founding fathers not only gave us the right to revolt against an oppressive govt, they said it’s our duty as Americans.

FACT: Obama promised not to raise taxes of any kind on anyone who makes less than $200k. But two weeks after his inauguration he raised taxes by 62 cents a pack on the nation’s 43 million smokers, most of whom make less than $200k.

FACT: Obama promised that the unemployment rate would not exceed 8% if we pass his stimulus plan, but the unemployment rate is now at 9.7%.

FACT: Obama told us that $1 in govt spending will return $1.52 in economic growth and that $1 in tax cuts returns just 99 cents in economic growth. If you follow his logic, all we need to do is spend our way to prosperity.
