Progressives attempt to pin Norwegian massacre on a blogger

Taking a page out of the playbook of American progressives who routinely blame conservatives and the Tea Party for every single act of violence in the country, the Leftwing Norwegian press and blogosphere are attempting to pin the Anders Breivik massacre on a blogger whom they have identified as 'rightwing.'

Such accusations have sent the blogger into hiding.

Prolific essayist and blogger 'Fjordman', whose real name is Peter Jensen, had been accused of being the perpetrator in the Norway shootings by the American and European press. But when it was discovered that the killer was Anders Breivik, the press continued to badger Fjordman but shifted the focus by accusing him of being Breivik's 'inspiration.'

According to Andrew G. Bostrom at The American Thinker, the motivation for pinning the shootings on a blogger is clear:

An hysterical, morally cretinous press and blogosphere -- Norwegian, other European, and American -- which had initially accused Fjordman, falsely and recklessly, of being the Brevik mass murderer, continues to persist that he was Brevik's "main inspiration," a charge akin to accusing the Beatles of "inspiring" Charles Manson, or Jody Foster "inspiring" John Hinckley.

Even the relatively fair and staid Verdans Gang interview labels the apolitical Fjordman as "far right." When reading the interview, consider that the ongoing major "accusation" against Fjordman is that his reasoned critique of cultural relativism -- echoed by mainstream Western European leaders Sarkozy, Cameron, and Merkel -- "precipitated" the murderous insanity of Brevik. This is another absurd and slanderous allegation which brings to mind these words cited (on p. 362) in the cut and paste Brevik "manifesto" from eminence grise Bernard Lewis -- an icon of the American mainstream, including the mainstream right -- none of whom would dare identifying Lewis as Brevik's "inspiration"...

In other words, telling the truth about the dangers of cultural relativism, particularly when it comes to freedom and the threat of radical Islam, will get you accused by the progressives of murder. And when they are proved wrong, rather than issuing the necessary retractions and apologies they double down by accusing you of being the 'inspiration' for madmen who conduct acts of barbarism.

Further, Bostrom reports that the Norwegian police questioned Fjordman in connection with the murders and his supposed 'interaction' with Breivik. But there is no connection. Fjordman had no interaction with the perpetrator at all, though Breivik attempted to contact him. The only thing that placed him in the limelight is that the shooter had referred to Fjordman's writings extensively in his rambling 'manifesto.'

According to an interview with Fjordman published in the Norwegian publication Verdans Gang, the blogger believes the circumstances forced him to reveal his identity, placing him and his family at great risk. Fjordman maintains that the danger has sent him into hiding and that he will never again write under the name 'Fjordman.' He also asserts that he volunteered to do the interview, and to reveal his real name, in order to clear his reputation:

I feel it's my duty to give a statement to the police, and I wanted to do this interview because my name eventually would have emerged anyway, resulting in a media frenzy. It is also a way for me to clear my name, says Jensen.

Norwegian police confiscated his computer Thursday, and even though he was questioned as a witness, he feels that the police are looking to implicate him.

- They won't find anything on my computer regarding any criminal matters or Breivik, he says.

Jensen has a masters degree in culture and technology from the University of Oslo, and has studied Arabic at the University of Bergen and the American University in Cairo. In his master's dissertation he wrote about censorship and blogging in Iran.

The lessons gleaned from Fjordman's nightmare could be no clearer--reporters, bloggers, writers, liberty activists, and others who value sanity and freedom are the targets of the vast progessive smear machine which seeks to identify, malign, marginalize, isolate, and eventually obliterate any opposition to their subversive schemes.

Imbeciles in the dumbed-down masses will believe such bilge. But intelligent Americans with nothing more than an 8th grade education know that the acts of deranged monsters cannot be blamed on anything other than their own demented and delusional deductions. Such people can be triggered into bizarre activity by nearly anything, such as, say, Joe Biden's reference to the Tea Party as 'terrorists,' which could easily be construed by a madman as a call to kill patriots.
