Progressive Miami International Boat Show sails on after a successful run

The Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show wrapped it up Monday, after exhibiting more than 3,000 boats and 2,000 exhibitors from all over the world. The boat show began on February 13th and ran until February 17th. There are many positive contributions the show provides. Among them is full time positions for 6,592 in Florida, the show brings in more than 36% visitors from outside the state of Florida, and most important, it moves $597 million in the economy. Over 102,000 visitors attended the 2013 show.
The show exhibited in three locations: The Sea Isle Marina, The Miamarina at Bayside and the Miami Beach Convention Center. Complimentary boat rides were offered at the Miamarina at Bayside and Sea Isle Marina locations. Visitors were able to board boats at the Miami Beach Convention Center, for up close inspections. Boats were available in all sizes and prices. Lines formed to watch celebrities make appearances. National Geographic’s Shark Men Chris Fischer, Brett McBride and Jody Whitworth were on hand to greet, sign autographs, and pose for photos for happy fans. Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer was present, to the delight of children and adults. The cast and crew from the popular National Geographic’s hit show, Wicked Tuna, made an appearance.
Boat enthusiasts participated in boating hands on skills training, learn the ins and outs of boating in Fred’s Shed Interactive Learning Center, and admire the latest models in boats from Yamaha, Hacker-Craft, and other brands which were on exhibit. Vendors displayed boat accessories. Visitors could choose boating accessories and supplies to purchase from large arrays featuring popular brands for the boating lifestyle. The Progressive International Boat Show was an evident success.
