Progressive International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach.

It is that time of year again, time to take a trip to Long Beach for the Progressive International Motorcycle Show. I consider myself very lucky I get to participate for West Coast Media Day where I get to a preview of the motorcycles and accessories.
The people running the events told the assembled media that it three semi trucks and trailers, fifty personnel and two days to set up, that is not counting all the manufacturers, dealers, vendors and support personnel.
The day started off with Triumph Motorcycles showing of their new Thunderbird LT and a motorcycle built by ladies at Klockwerks
Then over to American Suzuki, who are celebrating 50 years of selling motorcycles. On display is a special painted GSXR 1000 Sports Motorcycle, we were told that they are sold. Suzuki also showed off the new Vstrom 1000 and the new GW 250 which will sell for just under four thousand dollars.
BRPI Can-Am was showing it all new Spyder RT which has a three cylinder engine with a six speed transmission. Danica Patrick the racing driver made an appearance.
Royal Enfield had the brand new Continental GT café racer as their show piece it has a Harris Frame, Excel Alloy Wheels among its many parts, Kevin Mahoney, President of Classic Motorworks who imports Royal Enfield stated that their company is growing fifty percent for the last two years.
Zero motorcycles showed off it new bikes that can be fitted with an extended range power pack.
Victory showed off a bike called Sixx Sense which was presented by Kerri Kasem and Rich Khristoph also on among the bikes were Arlen and Corey Ness both of whom have had a design in some of the Victory Models
Indian had all of their new motorcycles on hand and will be giving demo rides outside, they even started up one of the bikes, bring your camera for these bikes.
KTM has the 1190 Duke on the floor along with the RC8 sport bike.
Yamaha showed off some vintage racing bikes and some new models, Josh Herrin was on hand talking about his racing Yamahas and one of their racers celebrated his twenty first Birthday and one big display was of the New BOLT cruiser, and some of which have been customized including one by Jesse Rook.
BMW offered up the new customizable Nine T it has features that make it very easy to modify and the new 1200 RT.
Ducati featured the new Monster 1200S with 145 horsepower and the new 899 Paginale.
Harley-Davidson had several models on the floor with the new Project Rushmore touring bikes Jennifer Hoyer, Public Relations Manager said that this project took four years to bring to the market instead of the usual five plus years.
Honda showed several models to the press, but the two that stand out are the new Valkyrie and the CTX1300 which is part custom and part sport tourer.
Kawasaki proudly showed off its new Sugomi (Japanese for energy) styled Z1000 and Ninja 1000 in green of course. The Ninja line is celebrating thirty years of production, KX line of off road motorcycles is celebrating forty years of production.
Husqvarna showed off it new dirt bikes, they are undergoing changes right now and building a new complex down in Menifee.
Progressive has a slot car-motorcycle track set up if anyone wants to try racing one.
There is plenty to see and do, there are plenty of vendors inside and outside there will be a stunt show and lots of demo bike to ride should you desire if you do come dressed to ride no shorts or flip flops.
