Dr. Ed Shadid has multiply broadcast invitations to tonight's Convention Center Townhall meeting in Downtown Oklahoma City's Bricktown. Shadid is the Ward 2 Oklahoma City Councilor, and is a candidate for the 2014 Oklahoma City Mayoral Race.

Here is the letter Dr. Ed Shadid sent out yesterday:

Dear Oklahoma City :

Tomorrow night, January 23rd at 6:30 PM, I am hosting one of the only public discussions regarding the proposed downtown convention center. This town hall will be at the Bricktown Hotel and Convention Center located at 2001 E. Reno.

We have come together as a community in the past to discuss urban sprawl, public health, streetscapes, and public transit.

I hope you will come join this town hall meeting with Dr. Heywood Sanders, an expert on city planning and convention centers. Public participation and transparency are vital, especially when we are being steered toward spending hundreds of millions of dollars extra on a project that is shrouded in secrecy.

Please watch and share our video invitation with your friends and family:

The venue has free parking and refreshments will be served. We will also be collecting petition signatures to send the convention center to a vote of the citizens of Oklahoma City.

RSVP by calling 405-212-3068, replying to this email, or by leaving us a message on the Facebook event at

See you tomorrow night,
