Program announced for 2013 Women's Sailing Convention in Newport Beach

Southern California Yachting Association has just announced the 2013 Women’s Sailing Convention Program. The 2013 Convention is the 24th edition of the For Women, by Women event, dedicated to building up proficiency, friendship, and knowledge of sailing for women.

The February 2 Meetings, will be conducted at Newport Beach’s Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club. The speakers at the Convention, most of who are licensed USCG Captains, will cover virtually every aspect of sailing. The Convention will feature over 25 Seminars, including both classroom and on-the-water activities.

Led by Gail Hine, long time Director of the Convention, the format will help women sailors of all skill levels increase both knowledge and self-confidence on the water. Convention attendees will also have an opportunity to meet and listen to Katie Pettibone, veteran America’s Cup and Volvo Round the world Sailor.

· Docking

· Overboard Procedures

· Weather
