For a festival that looked like it was going to join the great lineup in the sky just a year ago, Atlanta's ProgPower USA has stormed back to life. Hot off the buzz of a well received 2013 show that included Sabaton, Shadow Gallery, and Armored Saint, ProgPower USA has sold out all tickets to its 2014 festival in less than a month, promoter Glenn Harveston announced on Nov. 4
Helping with the strong ticket sales is a lineup filled with exclusive performances. Headlining ProgPower USA 2014 is Savatage frontman Jon Oliva with his new band Pain. Oliva will perform a world exclusive run through of Savatage's classic "Streets: A Rock Opera." Co-headlining ProgPower USA 2014 are progressive superstars Stratovarius with their exclusive U.S. appearance in 2014.
Other exclusives at ProgPower USA include Seventh Wonder performing their album "Mercy Falls" in its entirety, Pain of Salvation performing "Remedy Lane" in its entirety, and Pagan's Mind performing "Celestial Entrance" in its entirety.
Rounding out the globe trotting lineup are Norway's Leprous, Withem, and Divided Multitude, Italy's DGM, Germany's Orden Ogan, Masterplan, Voodoo Circle, and U.S. bands Overkill, Thought Chamber, Draekon, Theocracy, and Vangough.
The one month turn around is the fastest ProgPower USA has ever sold out and, after hinting that he might close up shop in recent years, promoter Glenn Harveston posted a YouTube video today with a "see you in 2015" exit, boding well for the future of one of the last remaining U.S. metal festivals.
