Paul Ilecki, 1 facilitator of the upcoming Progoff Intensive Journal® process, 2 speaks about the spirituality and healing one may access during the workshop.
“Spirituality, in this work, is to sense a connection to something greater than your self. This connection—whether we call it Spirit, nature, or energy—can open you up to deep possibilities of healing.”
Further addressing this connection, Paul explains: “At a journal workshop, participants are encouraged to look at the whole life experience of their lives, not just personal history, thoughts, or experiences of their bodies, but of all aspects of their being. In doing so, they realize all of this experience is a bridge to spirituality and to healing their whole self.”
The interaction between spirituality and healing underlies the Progoff journal process. Workshop participants will deeply observe this link during the journal workshop.
Within the journal process, Paul notes, “We experience life as it unfolds; we sense healing is available when, with confidence and comfort, we get back in touch with our lives, even though we may not know where we are going.”
Progoff agrees with this assessment and says that using this process “enriches our inner life immeasurably, helping us to stay in touch with that underlying reality which is our personal source of meaning and strength. In fact, assisting us to establish contact with that deep reality is one of its main purposes.” 3
In addition to contacting this deep reality, Paul says Progoff’s method “is built upon a profound trust in the human experience.”
Do you lack trust in yourself? Paul speaks with kind directness: “We must be honest with ourselves and with what is going on in our lives. If we don’t have faith that the answers live in our own life experience, what else do we have? We have only our lives.”
During the upcoming workshop, 2 Paul will introduce the Intensive Journal methods to help people tap into their lives and into their innate capacity for healing and wholeness.
Participants in the workshop will receive quiet support from others as they work within their own lives. Paul will be the only person who responds to readings, if someone chooses to read from their journal. And his remarks will always gently guide participants back into the life experience that is unfolding through journaling.
And what does Paul say is the purpose of this process? “Why else journal than to find out what is going on within ourselves?”
In the next article of this series, Paul will continue his discussion of the profound and illuminating journey one undertakes in this journal process.
