Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute was released in Japan on November 26th. According to Media Create, the fourth game in the popular Nintendo DS series has sold 306,473 during its first week. So how does it stack up to the performance of the previous three games? Here are the first week Media Create sales for the Professor Layton series in Japan:

Professor Layton and the Curious Village – 119,816
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box – 307,771
Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel - 347,360
Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute – 306,473

Although Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute may be the second slowest selling game in the series, it is still insanely popular. A fifth title, Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracles, has already been announced for next fall. Only Professor Layton and the Curious Village and Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box has been released in North America so far.

    Nintendo should be localizing these games much quicker! guess they don't want to cannabalize sales of previous titles so they sttrreettcchhh releases out, shame.
