Producers of 'Buckwild' to cover expenses for Shain Gandee's funeral (Photos)

In the wake of 'Buckwild' star Shain Gandee's passing, fans were even more saddened to learn that his family was lacking the money needed to cover funeral expenses. Internet commentators had said that they hoped MTV or someone associated with the show would step up to help. According to a TMZ article dated Wednesday, April 3, two production companies behind the show have offered to pay for all of Shain's funeral expenses.

Parallel Entertainment CEO J.P. Williams who produced the show with Zoo productions tells TMZ, "Shain was a great kid with a big heart who had endless love for his mom and dad."

"I am from West Virginia and this show reminded me of how I grew up," he continued.

Shain's cousin Ashley ha dcame forward yesterday telling TMZ about the family's struggles to pay. She announced that she was organizing a benefit to help cover expenses, and that the Gandee General Store that just opened would be taking doncations as well. She also said that they were working out arrangements, and weren't yet sure if it would be public or not.

According to today's TMZ report, a public service will be held for the 'Buckwild' star on Sunday.

In regards to the donation websites that have been raising money for the funeral, the money will no go towards expenses incurred by Shain's family during the recovery effort. Reportedly, any remaining funds will go towards the funeral of the other two men that passed away, one of which was Shain's uncle.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is the confirmed cause of death as Gandee's Bronco was too submerged in mud to release exhaust properly.
