Producers Guild Award nominations for TV announced

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced their nominees for films and television Thursday. This specific guild award’s win for best producer nearly guarantees who’ll grab the Oscar for Best Picture.

What isn’t well known the producers of television are honored too. Chuck Lorre, producer of the current hit sitcoms “Big Bang Theory” and “Two and a Half Men,” will receive the Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television.

Duck Dynasty” has received a lot of controversy in the past weeks, yet its producers are nominated in the Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television category.

Honoring the 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination, National Geographic’s “Killing Kennedy” is nominated for The David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television. All other nominees in television are constants at the Emmys, SAGs, and Golden Globes.

The 25th Producers Guild Awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 19. Here is a complete list of television nominees featuring the programs, networks, and producers.
