Proctor & Gamble Recalls Iams Canned Kitten and Cat Food

Iams Proactive Health Kitten and Cat food in the can, has been recalled due to improper amounts of thiamine. The cans being recalled are the 3 ounce and 5.5 ounce. The dates range from September 2011 through June 2012.

Symptoms of thiamine deficiency can include weight loss, vomiting, no appetite or salivation. It's possible that your kitten or cat may not have any of these symptoms or may have them all. Long term symptoms may include falling and seizures. If you suspect a long term thiamine deficiency, take your feline to the vet.

Recalled products can be returned for a refund. Further questions can be directed to Proctor and Gamble from 9AM to 7PM by calling 877-340-8826

    Thanks for the info on Iams, I used to feed my pets this food, until someone told me it is comparable to McDonalds. It is scary not to know what brand to trust for pet food.
