After just two days, the Kickstarter campaign for Wishbone Games' "Pro Wrestling X" not only met its fundraising goal of $6,400, it's already exceeded it, bringing in $7,781 as of this morning.

With 34 days remaining in the effort, the game's creator, Wishbone CEO Dave Wishnowski, is hopeful for the future.

“This Kickstarter is not kickstarting a game, it’s the beginning of a wrestling platform that has no reason to end,” Wishnowski told Examiner in an exclusive interview. “It’s really something new.”

The game's last Kickstarter in December 2012 raised $21,907, but came up short of its $75,000 goal. Although the team failed to get the funding they needed, they still released "Pro Wrestling X: Uprising" and used the funds from sales to help build the newest version of the game, which is still in development.

A huge graphical improvement over its predecessor, the game's animations also appear to be much smoother. A video on the game's Kickstarter shows off the new look and animations with a Brainbuster that will immediately remind you of Nintendo 64 classics "WWF No Mercy" and "WCW/nWo Revenge."

Intent on bringing that tried and true gameplay back to the mainstream, Wishnowski and his team believe the hardcore cult following behind those games want something new.

“This will be the premiere Wrestling game for the PC platform,” Wishnowski said. “We want you to get in on the ground floor and help us build the game you want. It’s not like you’re buying a game- it’s like you’re joining our team.”
