Every single day in 2014, Pro Wrestling Examiner will feature one match in the most full video form we can find and break down why this particular pro wrestling performance is something to see. Sometimes it will be an incredible bout between modern superstars on TV or independent wrestlers busting their way up the ladder, no matter it will be pure pro wrestling fun. Claudio Castagnoli vs Bryan Danielson
In today’s WWE they are individually as Daniel Bryan and Antonio Cesaro, but in 2008 in Ring of Honor Bryan Danielson battled the Swiss strongman Claudio Castignoli in this classic bout. The match saw the two talented wrestlers face-off in the wrestling hotbed of Toronto with a roaring crowd feverously taking in the action. The match was driven technically wonderful trades of holds into a pulse pounding finish.
While wrestling fans cheer “YES!” now for Daniel Bryan, Castignoli riled up crowds with a loud pop “HEY!” with his bicep-to-face European Uppercuts. It’s also interesting to see Bryan without his lumberjack beard that has become a such part of his current image. WWE fans should watch this match to see both wrestlers working with completely different moves in their electric performances. It’s also striking to see how great Bryan and Cesaro/Castignoli were in ‘08 and how they are even better now on the elevated stage of WWE.
