Growing up in New York, raised as a Catholic, half Italian myself, I am spitting mad that the people of New York have lost their soul and elected such a demon as Andrew Cuomo. Governor Cuomo stated that Pro-Life people 'have no place in the State of New York.'
Sadly, America is currently being run by race baiters and Life haters!
Catholics, and non-Catholic disciples of Jesus, must deliver him the Cross…even if it is a right-cross.
"I will make you a light to the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth." Isaiah 49:3, 5-6
Catholics, Christians, and people of good will, must come out of their postmodern caves and join the world, not as worldly disciples; rather, as salt and leaven in the good news of Jesus Christ. We have to stop preaching to the choir and start engaging in the dirty, and dangerous, work of facing the world with the Truth. What we will probably find is that a vast majority of people will listen, if not repent. What we will also find will be Cuomo's and Pelosi's and Obama's, ready to nail us to a Cross.
Call me a sinner. For I know that Jesus didn't strike back. Yet, before they nail me to a tree, I'm gonna smack the Cuomo's of the world upside the head with the Truth.
"I announced your justice in the vast assembly;
I did not restrain my lips, as you, O LORD, know." Psalm 40:4, 7-10
In order to gain the strength to evangelize--in peace, or in holy fisticuffs--we need Holy Spirit power! Therefore, as Catholics, we need Jesus in the Eucharist. By our power alone, we will succumb to either cowardice in the face of tyranny, or we will exhibit brutality, which rivals our foe and defeats the gospel message of Love.
Don't get me wrong. The punch I speak of isn't literal in fist to face. But it is real in speaking Truth to power--passing power!
"...to you who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be holy,
with all those everywhere who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
their Lord and ours." 1 Corinthians 1:1-3
With these words St. Paul reminds us that the unborn children we protect come from all nations, all races, and all ethnicities. He also reminds us that our message is first a message we must receive in God's Love as Mercy. Therefore, we are called to holiness. Holiness, which flows par excellence in the Life of Jesus Christ, found in the Eucharist. Subsequently, unborn babies, the elderly, the crippled, and the developmentally disabled DESERVE this Life too!
"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." John 1:29-34
Finally, Jesus is our Lord and Savior. Andrew Cuomo is just a man--a shabby man at that! Mr. Cuomo, DO NOT tell Americans where they can and can't go. And do not think that we will allow you to continue to kill our sons and daughters. WE WILL RISE UP and you will fall.
Count on it.
