The following is a list of the prize money up for grabs for singles tennis players at the 2014 BNP Paribas Open being held from Monday, March 3, 2014, to Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California.

The tournament is also known as the 2014 Indian Wells Masters. The BNP Paribas Open or Indian Wells Masters is an outdoor tournament held on the hard court surfaces at Indian Wells Tennis Garden, which is located in the California desert in the city of Indian Wells, which is just south of Palm Springs.

Indian Wells is not one of the four major tournaments in tennis held annually, but it is a big tennis tournament for professional players mainly due to its large prize money payouts which total over $10 million in 2014. All prize money shown is not cumulative, players just earn the amount shown for the round they advance to. Men and women tennis players are paid the same amounts at Indian Wells.

Prize money for tennis players at 2014 Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open

The men's and women's singles winners at the 2014 Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open will each earn a cool $1 million. That is the same amount that Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova took home for winning at Indian Wells in 2013.

  • Runners-up - $500,000

The two runners-up at Indian Wells in 2014 will each earn $500,000. The same amount Juan Martin del Porto and Caroline Wozniacki took home as runner-up in 2013.

  • Semifinalists - $225,000

Semifinalists at Indian Wells in 2014 will take home $225,000 each.

  • Quarter-finalists - $104,000

Quarter-finalists will each earn $104,000.

  • Fourth Round - $52,000
  • Third Round - $26,000
  • Second Round - $16,000
  • First Round - $11,000

Just for showing and playing in the first round of the tournament is worth $11,000 for each player who loses.

Qualifying prize money at 2014 Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open

The 2014 Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open had two qualifying rounds for players trying to earn their way into the main draw. The money shown here is for players who lost in each round. Players who won in both qualifying rounds have moved on to the main draw and are guaranteed at least $11,000 for playing in the first round of the tournament.

  • First Round Qualifying - $1,285

Players who lost in the first round qualifiers each earned $1,285

  • Second Round Qualifying - $2,515

Players who advanced to the second round of qualifiers and lost each earned $2,515.
