Private tutor in Greenville charged with criminal sexual conduct against student

An upstate man has been charged with sexual assault on a teen, WSPA News reported January 21.

Ronique Staley, 29, is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old student he was tutoring at a home on South Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville.

Staley, who isn't affiliated with the Greenville County School District, was supposed to drive the student home after a tutoring session, but performed a sex act on the teen against his will.

Greenville Police Department stated that Staley advertised his tutoring business. A sign outside his home that read "Need a Tutor?" and listed a phone number.

Staley was charged with criminal sexual conduct first-degree and is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
