One Atlanta small business will draw on that experience as they look to provide the pro am golf experience to individuals, corporations, and avid golfers.

Professional golfers, Derek Oakey and Bradley Smith have extensive backgrounds as touring golf professionals, and they know about playing a pro am from the "inside." They have worked to create Private Professional Golf, LLC., which is based in Atlanta. PPG brings touring professionals and golfers of all levels together for a relaxed and enjoyable day or days on the course. Both Oakey and Smith have played professionally all over the world.

“Wednesday pro-am events are always difficult at a tour event, even though we want to help our amateur partners out we still have to tee it up for our livelihood starting Thursday” explains Oakey, company co-founder.

Private Professional Golf’ LLC’s events are conducted away from the stress and strain of a tournament week, so it gives the touring professionals an opportunity to socialize with their amateur playing companions and give additional insight to the game of golf.

In April of 2104, PPG will host an international group that will enjoy four rounds of golf at some of Atlanta’s finest clubs along with high end accommodations, Master’s practice round tickets, and private round trip transportation from Atlanta to Augusta.

It's a big undertaking, but PPG says this is the type of experience they want to provide.

“We want to provide opportunities in various settings, golfers demand variety," says co-founder, Bradley Smith. “Our aim is to provide opportunities to private and corporate groups at private clubs as well as providing opportunities at exclusive destinations within the US and overseas”.

With golf growing as a sport, and the economy rebounding, Private Professional Golf fills a newly created niche.

Who wouldn't want to play a round of golf with a touring professional?

"We are excited about the future of PPG," adds Smth. "There is a big market out there to bring touring professionals to the private and corporate sector of golf. At PPG we aim to be the bridge that brings the two together."
