'Private Practice' alum Audra McDonald headed to CBS' 'The Good Wife'

"Private Practice" star Audra McDonald has booked a guest spot on CBS' "The Good Wife."

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news Tuesday (Jan. 15) that the Tony-Award winner will play Alicia's (Juliana Margulies) former nemesis from her days at Georgetown Law School in an upcoming Season 4 episode of the legal drama.

The two will face off once again, this time in the courtroom. The site reports that the actress has booked only one episode so far, set to air in the spring, but could return for more down the road.

The fourth season of "Good Wife" has featured guest appearances by Matthew Perry, Michael J. Fox, Christina Ricci, Nathan Lane, Amanda Peet, Maura Tierney and Kristen Chenoweth, among others.

McDonald left her role as Dr. Naomi Bennett on "Private Practice" in 2011, but will be back for the show's series finale on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

"The Good Wife" airs Sundays at 9/8 p.m. CT on CBS.
