Princess Letizia visits charity for disabled

HRH the Princess of Asturias has arrived on the island of Mallorca but not her family’s annual vacation, for bit of work before the relaxation.  Princess Letizia was there to complete an engagement learning about the work of the Handisport Foundation, a non-profit whose mission is to encourage and facilitate integration of disabled people though sports.  She was welcomed by the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Carlos Delgado as well as the President of the Foundation Handisport, the founder of the Foundation, and the mayor of Llucmajor.  Her husband Prince Felipe was not available to join her as he was in Peru for the swearing in of their President.  Part of the Princess’ visit involved seeing the work of the Foundation, founded in 2006, in action.  She met with a golfer who showed her a machine that allows him to stand at the right angle to swing a golf club.  Eventually the entire Spanish royal family will be arriving on Mallorca for their summer vacation, and to join in the celebrations around the King’s Cup sailing event.
