Princess Highway poised for Darley Irish Oaks, Fairyhouse called off

Tuesday afternoon's meeting at Fairyhouse has been called off due to a waterlogged track. Racetrack officials made the decision prior to the morning inspection due to sustained rainfall the previous night.

In other developments, the Darley Irish Oaks at the Curragh on July 22 remains on the agenda for Moyglare's Princess Highway, who annihilated the opposition in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot. "She'll go for the Irish Oaks. She was very impressive in Ascot," trainer Stan Cosgrove told Betfair.

Betting tipsters and punters will have a keen eye on another horse groomed under Moyglare. Four-year-old Sapphire placed second to Izzi Top in the Pretty Polly Stakes at Curragh. Sapphire is the daughter of Medicean.

It appears that the Dermot Weld-trained Speaking of Which will compete in the United States and forego contention in the Irish Derby. The colt will likely contend for glory in the Secretariat Stakes, a Group 1 event, at Arlington in August.

Punters looking to wager on this horse may consider that Speaking of Which is rated 120 by Timeform and has entries in the King George and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The horse can be backed at 270.0 and 170.0 respectively in each event.

Speaking of Which won the Group 3 Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh in May and is the son of Invincible Spirit.
