Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have attended their first ever Buckingham Palace garden party. According to Hello Magazine, the two were accompanied by their father Prince Andrew, Princess Anne, the Queen and Prince Philip, and they dressed up in high fashion for the May 30, 2013 event.

The princess' attendance further suggests that the two young Royals are starting to be groomed for a part-time role as working royals. Prince Andrew's newly revamped website notes that Princess Beatrice has a full-time job in the finance sector and Princess Eugenie is working in art.

The Daily Mail reported that several members of the 2012 Olympic Team were present, including some from the basketball team, who joked about shooting some hoops. The princesses suggested, “Maybe next time.”

The Duchess of Cambridge attended the first garden party last week, wearing a bright yellow dress that showed off her seven-month baby bump. Typically, there will be three Buckingham Palace garden parties in a season, with a fourth held in Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. The parties are used to thank the public for various forms of service, and are considered a high honor.
