Prince William honored as Personal Aide-de-Camp to The Queen (Photos)

While Kate Middleton's baby bump and her high heel snafu drew a lot of attention, Prince William was honored in a big way at Sunday's St. Patrick's Day Military Parade. Clarence House confirms in March 18 statement the duke was made a Personal Aide-de-Camp to The Queen. "Principal ADC is an office held by some high-ranking officers in the Armed Services and includes carrying duties such as attendance on The Queen at the State Opening of Parliament or representing The Queen at memorial services."

The Duke of Cambridge's honorary appointment was detailed in the Court Circular today after the honor was bestowed on St. Patrick's Day. Kate Middleton watched proudlyas Prince William was appointed the title. The day also marked the first time he wore the insignia of the position.

Prince Charles is also a Personal Aide-de-Camp to Her Royal Majesty and Prince William's grandfather, Prince Philip, was honored with the position by the Queen's father, King George VI.

Prince William is also a Royal Knight of the Order of the Thistle and a Knight of the Garter -- two honors bestowed on him in 2012.
