Prince to perform two songs on Jimmy Fallon’s late night talk show

On Feb. 25, 2013, it was announced that Prince will make a rare public appearance when he sings two songs on Jimmy Fallon’s late night talk show.

According to the Star Tribune, a representative with NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” confirmed the pop music superstar will be on the show Mar. 1.

The report indicates it remains unclear as to whether Prince will perform new songs or sing two of his classics.

According to Dr. Funkenberry, the performance will be Prince’s first on Fallon’s popular show. The website notes that Questlove, the drummer for “Late Night’s” in-house band The Roots, is a major fan of the “Purple Rain” performer.

Prince made an appearance at the Grammys to present the Record of the Year award to Gotye and will be performing in Europe this summer. In addition, he recently released a new song on his website entitled “Screwdriver,” according to the Tribune.
