SXSW or South by Southwest or South By, formed in 1987, is a series of film, interactive and music festivals and conferences held in Austin, Texas each spring. The music portion of the festival is the largest of its kind in the world.
This year's event has been rumored to host some of the biggest names in music such as “Depeche Mode,” “Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players”, “Iggy and the Stooges” and “Green Day”. One of the biggest rumors is that “Prince” will be performing on Saturday, March 16th at La Zona Rosa.
Although Prince has performed everywhere in the world, this will be his first appearance at SXSW. Ever. It’s not like he has a limited amount of material to perform. Prince has so many Top 40 hits and platinum albums, he could probably perform every day of the festival.
According to “Hitfix”, “...Prince's concert will be bursting from its own seams with a 22-piece band.”
