When Prince Harry helped a Walking With the Wounded team kick off a trek to the North Pole last year, most were thinking about the Royal Wedding and hoping he'd make it back in time. But back then, the Prince said he wanted to help the team with their next venture, this time joining them to climb Mount Everest. According to a report in yesterday's “Telegraph,” that may now come to pass.
Now that 2012 has come around, it seems that he's still hoping to join them on their trek. And he may just be able to squeeze in the May adventure around his duties for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, most of which is happening in late May and June. (Story continues below.)
The only official word from Buckingham Palace is that whether Prince Harry can go to Everest will depend on his Army commitments. But another climber, 21-year-old Mollie Hughes who wants to climb at the same time as the Walking With the Wounded team and become Britain's youngest female Everest-conqueror, has told the paper that she'd been told Prince Harry would be along too.
