Prince Harry: Las Vegas nude photo incident 'too much army, not enough prince' (Video)

Prince Harry is speaking out on his Las Vegas nude photo scandal for the first time since the July 2012 incident grabbed international headlines. While returning to the UK from Afghanistan today (Tuesday), the 28 year old prince admits he caused embarrassment to the royal family and himself. "(I) probably let myself down, I let my family down, I let other people down," CNN quotes him as saying. "(It was) probably a classic example of me, you know, probably being too much army and not enough prince. It's a simple case of that."

Prince Harry, royals won't sue over release of Harry's nude pictures

The third-in-line to the throne was on a private vacation, in Las Vegas following the London Olympics, when he was snapped nude. He and a group of friends invited some random girls into their hotel suite where they played a game of strip pool. The nude photos of Prince Harry were taken on a cell phone camera by one of the women and were later published by TMZ. The pictures went viral faster than Prince Harry could return home. "At the end of the day I was in a private area and there should be a certain amount of privacy that one should expect," Harry said while speaking of the incident publicly for the first time. Harry's security was criticized following the incident for not confiscating the cell phones from the strangers.

While it's been reported Prince Harry's then-girlfriend broke up with him following the release of the nude photos, he reveals most of his friends supported him. "Back home all my close friends rallied round me and were great."

Just weeks after the nude photos went viral, Prince Harry was deployed to Afghanistan for a four month tour.
