Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit evacuated from plane

Set to return to Norway today, TRH Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit were evacuated from their airplane in Copenhagen.  The plane was scheduled to fly the couple back to Oslo when smoke was found to be coming from the airplane engine.  Passengers, including the Crown Princess who has a fear of flying, were evacuated via slides.  The airline, SAS, was quoted by bt.dk as confirming the situation.  Crown Princess Mette-Marit took to her twitter account: “Ok, my morning turned out a bit more exciting than expected.. Phew..”  Later she tweeted a follow up: “A warm thank you to a great SAS crew who took care of all the passengers.”  On the return flight SAS did their best to calm the Princess and her fears by letting her see the cockpit and get to sit next to the pilot.  Billed-Bladet quoted a source at the airline who said:  “Mette-Marit was allowed to sit in the cockpit. It's something we do to help people with fear of flying, if the captain ok’s it.”  The couple had been in Denmark to celebrate the private 40th birthday party of HRH Crown Princess Mary.
