Prince George has a godfather but it isn't who you might expect. On Aug. 30, E! Online reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton have chosen one of William's longtime friends, Guy Pelly -- and he's ecstatic. If you've never heard of Pelly, you aren't alone but apparently he's been a great friend of William's for years.
"[Guy is] thrilled to bits. Everyone was congratulating him. Guy's been a very discreet and good friend to William over the years. Those are qualities he wants to pass on to George," a source revealed. It sounds like this was a wise choice and that the couple is happy to have Guy be a part of their son's life.
Prince George won't have one godfather -- he will have three, and three godmothers too! In total, the young prince is set to have six godparents so William and Kate have been asking their closest and dearest friends. Not sure why Prince Harry wasn't chosen? Well he more than likely will be (if he hasn't already).
Other choices for George's godfather(s) include William's other friend Thomas van Straubenzee and Kate Middleton's brother, James Middleton. As for the baby's godmother(s), Kate's sister Pippa Middleton will undoubtedly be asked. Her friend Alicia Fox-Pitt may also be honored with the title.
Did Prince George's (first) godfather surprise you? Who else do you think Prince William and Kate Middleton will ask?
