HRH Prince Friso of Orange-Nassau remains in intensive care after a horrible skiing accident that left him buried for 15 minutes under an avalanche. The Netherlands government released a statement stating: “his life is still in danger, but he had a calm and stable night.” There has yet to be a statement from the hospital, but Dutch news sources are now staying that he did not suffer from a skull fracture, but is reeling from the effects of oxygen deprivation. HM Queen Beatrix and HRH Princess Mabel were seen returning once again to the hospital on Saturday. They were both dressed in dark clothes and sunglasses as the pair entered the hospital, the two had their arms around each other for support. It should be a few days until the hospital releases an official statement as to the Prince’s condition and prognosis. While the Prince is the second son of HM Queen Beatrix, he is not a Prince of the Netherlands. After choosing to marry Mabel without the government’s permission, he was removed from the line of succession in 2004. The couple has two daughters Countess Luana and Countess Zaria, both taking titles from their father’s “Count of Orange-Nassau”.
