Prince Daniel of Sweden visits United States

HRH Prince Daniel of Sweden, husband of the future Queen of Sweden is on a visit to the US this week.  The trip had been planned for the both of them, but with HRH the Crown Princess’ pregnancy, Prince Daniel is in the US on a solo trip through November 2nd.  His trip is taking him through Delaware, Washington DC, and New York City covering the topics of nutrition and health as well as celebrating communities with longstanding Swedish ties.  In DC yesterday, the Duke of Västergötland visited Miner Elementary and spoke with students about what it is like to be a Prince.  To the question of how Daniel became a Prince he answered:

“I was lucky enough to have met a princess.  A cute, cute, and kind Princess. . . now we are married, and then I became Prince.”

The children confirmed with the Prince that he does indeed live in a castle, and that it is really “nice to be a Prince”. This afternoon the Prince attended a reception in Wilmington celebrating the historic ties between Delaware and Sweden dating back to the 17th century.  The reception “Culture and Commerce, Celebrating our ties to Sweden – A Bridge to the Future,” focuses on the future and promotes awareness of the commercial opportunities in both nations.
