The Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, arrived in Toronto on Wednesday as part of an 11-day Canadian tour, from November 2-12. Upon landing, the royal couple was officially received by Premier Dalton McGuinty and Lieutenant Governor David Onley.
The royals will be attending a government reception on Wednesday night on the first day of their three-day Ontario visit. Camilla will also be visiting the Royal Conservatory of Music and be treated to a brief performance by three young musicians.
Always lacking in charisma, Prince Charles failed to garner public interest prior to his visit, with a poll last week indicating uncomfortable apathy present in most Canadians. More than 60 per cent felt that the monarchy was outdated, despite 80 per cent of respondents agreeing that the monarchy had an important place in Canadian history. Early morning talk shows and noon-time newscasts on Wednesday revealed similar feelings among Torontonians. The poll was conducted by a Toronto-based polling firm and was commissioned by the Canadian Friends of the Royal Family.
The tour includes 12 cities in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. The Ontario leg of the trip includes a visit to Hamilton's Dundurn Castle, which was home to Sir Allan Napier MacNab, Canada's pre-Confederation Prime Minister and Camilla's great-great-great grandfather. On Friday, the couple returns to Toronto to open the 87th annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

I think you should shut up, editor. This is a very important visit from someone who has an ability and desire to promote many excellent contemporary concepts. Your lack of loyalty is absolutely disgusting and as a Canadian I am ashamed of your behivior. As I said: SHUT UP AND GO AWAY.
hhhhYAWNnnnn!!!!
Who is editor? Do you mean the examiner? While your comment is valid, it is a little unnecessary for you to be so aggressive. Attack the idea, not the person.
