Prince and Paris Jackson: A new generation steals the spotlight

Until his death in 2009, Michael Jackson kept his three children shrouded in secrecy. However, two of his three kids are currently in the spotlight and making headlines. On March 5, “Good Morning America” ran a special report on Prince and Paris Jackson, both of whom are in the public eye.

Prince Michael Jackson is making waves in the world of television. He recently interviewed the cast of Disney’s “Oz The Great and Powerful” (including director Sam Raimi and actors James Franco and Zach Braff) for “Entertainment Tonight.” On March 4, he reported to the set of “90210” to film his scene for the series finale, which airs on May 13. Before shooting, he prepared by running lines with his cousins, the director and Aunt La Toya. On “ET” he said, “I want to direct, write, act, everything.”

Paris Jackson recently cut her long, straight hair and opted for a short and sassy haircut. She’s active on Twitter and posted on March 3, “I think it’s safe to say my hair is bi-polar.” That same day, Radar Online reported that La Toya Jackson is pushing all three of Michael Jackson’s children towards a reality TV show. However, Paris wants a lasting career and isn’t interested in a short-lived series.

It's not true, says La Toya. Her camp released a statement on March 4 that read, "La Toya nor her company represent any of MJ’s children in any legal capacity nor has she received any commissions or payment."

So, it looks like Michael Jackson’s two older children just want to spread their wings and soar into the world of TV and movies. Paris turns 15 on April 3 and Prince Michael turned 16 in Feb. Both are hoping for lasting careers in the entertainment industry. Blanket Jackson celebrated his 11th birthday on Feb. 21 and mostly remains in the shadows of his two older siblings at this time.

La Toya Jackson is currently competing on the all-star season of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which airs at 9 pm EST on Sundays on NBC.
