Pretty much any given year is a big one for Mat Sinner, but 2014 is looking to be perhaps his biggest yet. This week, the German bassist, producer, and all around nice guy, touched base with The Examiner to discuss the myriad of projects and passions that keep him occupied. Aside from his namesake band, Sinner, he will be busy with Primal Fear, Silent Force, Voodoo Circle, Kiske/Somerville, and more. The crux of the year will be focused on the new Primal Fear album, “Delivering the Black“, which releases this month. Mat and Primal Fear will be hitting the road at the album’s release, before a massive U.S. tour this spring.

The same week Primal Fear releases its new beast, Silent Force will also unleash, “Rising From Ashes“. This is another project with Primal Fear and Voodoo Circle guitarist, Alex Beyrodt. Sinner played bass and helped produce the album. Later this year he will also work on the second Kiske/Somerville record. In the midst of all this, Sinner will once again play ringmaster to Rock Meets Classic, which this year features the likes of Alice Cooper, Uriah Heap, Joe Lynn Turner and more.

On top of all that, he already has the debut album for his new project with Russell Allen (Symphony X, Adrenaline Mob) in the bag. The band, Level 10 featuring Russell Allen and Mat Sinner will not likely see the album released until early 2015, but Mat says it’s a monster. Also appearing on the record will be guitarist Roland Grapow (Masterplan), Alex Beyrodt, keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio, and Randy Black (Primal Fear) on drums.
