Lena Prima, hot off her recent packed performances at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino and her recent CD release, will perform on Thursday at 2 p.m. as part of producer Ed Mathews’ Desert Productions “Variety Toast of the Town,” held inside Sam’s Town Live! At Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall.

The weekly show, features well-known Las Vegas entertainers in a variety show format, with musical director the legendary Bill Fayne.

Prima, daughter of consumate showman Louis Prima, recently released her CD “Since the Storm” and played to nearly sold-out audiences during her show “That’s My Dad”, a tribute to her father.

She will also be appearing in Las Vegas on August 6 at the Goldcoast Hotel and Casino. The show, which starts at 2 p.m., includes songs from her new CD as well as songs her father wrote or popularized.

Lena and her brother Louis Prima, Jr., also performed at this year’s New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in honor of their father’s 100th birthday.

The pair will also be performing in Hollwood at the Hollywood Walk of Fame on July 25 when their father posthumously receives his long overdue star on The Walk. The performance begins at 11:30 a.m. at 1617 Vine Street in Front of the Ricardo Montalban Theatre.

She will also be appearing in Youngstown, Ohio at the Greater Younstown Italian Festival and in Laughlin, NV at the Colorado Belle/Edgewater Italian Festival.

Local audiences can catch her in September at the San Gennaro Feast.
