A priest in Mexico brings out his inner child during mass as he sprays the younger members of his congregation with holy water from a squirt gun. His child-like ways don’t stop here as he wears robes that sport images of Batman, Superman and Spiderman, according to Digital Spy on Feb. 26, 2013.
While this sounds a bit bizarre, Father Humberto Alvarez does put a smile on the kid’s faces and makes it enticing for the younger set to come to church. However strange this may sound, it does the trick.
Much like one of the superhero’s on his robe, Father Alvarez does a quick-change into regular robes when saying mass for adults. After 14 years as a priest, he should know what works in engaging the younger parishioners.
Father Alvarez isn’t the only one spraying holy water on his congregation. Back in 2011 Father Juan Ramon Hernandez used his squirt gun filled with holy water during a sermon about guns in Acatlan, Mexico.
