Pride parade, Minneapolis

The Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride Parade on Sunday morning attracts well

over 125,000 people, making it the largest parade of any kind in

the five-state area. Beginning in 1972 as a small march, the 2009

Parade showcased four marching bands and 21 floats as part of the

137 units in 2009’s Parade. Spectators filled Hennepin Avenue from
4th Street to 12th Street to enjoy the three-hour event.
