Santos Laynes-Mendez of Price Hill has been arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail today for raping a 3-year old child last month. He is being held tonight without bond. Cincinnati Police have alleged that Mendez raped the child on January 13th at an apartment on Glenway Avenue.
Caseworkers from Hamilton County Job and Family Services are also investigating the crime. The child’s mother is a friend of the suspect’s roommate. The child is now with the mother. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will investigate the suspect's immigration status to find out if he is in the country legally.
