According to TSN on Thursday, the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 on Thursday evening in a battle of Canadian Olympic men's hockey goaltenders.

Carey Price got the better of Roberto Luongo on this night. Price made 42 saves on 44 shots. Luongo meanwhile only made 24 saves but did stop Max Pacioretty twice on a penalty shot. Pacioretty ultimately got the better of Luongo though as he scored a hat trick including the game winning goal at 4:45 of the third period.

Price has been spectacular in his last two games. On Tuesday, he recorded a shutout in a 2-0 win over the Calgary Flames.

It is expected that Canadian head coach Mike Babcock will alternate Price and Luongo in Team Canada's first two games of the Olympic hockey tournament at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, with the better goaltender getting the start against Finland in Team Canada's final round robin game.
