Click here for a teaser from the Rx Bandits’ new album due out later this year.
The Rx Bandits, formed in 1995, are not one of the bands seen on MTV (although MTV hasn’t had anything to do with music for awhile) or will hear on the radio. Yet the Bandits have released 5 studio albums and for the last decade have remained one of my favorite bands.
What is unique about the Bandits is that their music delivers a message to fans that at times is political and other times is a call to simply wake up and realize what is going on around them. And if there is one thing that the Bandits have done for the last decade is stay true and consistent. The music is always upbeat and positive. The lyrics are always insightful and deep and worthy of getting to know. Some popular topics include appreciating the beauty of life, not letting technology replace humans, anti-war, anti-corporations, and to live life by your own accord and not how the media dictates.
For anyone new to the band check out “Progress” and “The Resignation” and prepare to be blown away.
