Prevention is always better than a cure. With over 200,000 new cases of breast cancer last year alone, it is important for one to do her/his part to combat this devastaing disease. Here are just a few things that you can do that will not only help prevent breast cancer, but will also improve your overall quality of life:

1) Limit alcohol consumption

2 Control Bodyweight - A healthy diet combined with physical activity will promote your ideal bodyweight.

3) Avoid environmental exposures

4) Increase Physical Activity - It is reccommended that adults get 150 minutes per week of moderate intensity physical activity.

5) Eat a nutritious diet - While there is no direct link that eating a diet low in fat and high in fruits and veggies will help combat breast cancer, it will combat other diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and stroke. A healthy diet does help maintain bodyweight which is a contributing factor in preventing breast cancer.
