One of the most common New Years resolutions is of course weight loss and living healthier. If that's one of your resolutions or your families take advantage this weekend for free to the public 'New Year, New You' health screenings this Saturday, Jan. 11 at all Sm’s Club locations from 11 am to 3 pm. This is the fourth consecutive year that Sam's Club has offered these preventative tests to the public.

Five free preventative health tests will be available (while supplies last for each test) that include; glucose testing, total cholesterol testing, blood pressure testing, body mass index (BMI) testing and vision screening and testing. Because Sam's Club is wanting to encourage Americans to take responsibility for their health, these tests will be given for free ever second Saturday of each month all the way through October 2014. Sam's Club will also personally keep track of all the screenings throughout the year.

"For the fourth consecutive year, Sam's Club pharmacy associates are giving back to our communities with the free health screening program," said Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president, Sam's Club Health and Wellness. "Last year, the program performed more than 896,000 free screenings over 10 monthly events in our clubs. In 2014, our pharmacies continue to offer world-class counsel, amazing savings and easy access to prescriptions, immunizations and vital preventive screenings to keep our communities aware of their health."

For members of Sam's Club, they can also take advantage of other health services and benefits that Sam's Club has to offer like pharmacist-administered flu shots and nine other immunizations and $4/$10 generic prescription prices. Sam's Plus and Sam's Business members receive an additional eight percent on name-brand prescriptions, 40% off on generics that are not part of the $4/$10 generic prescription program and additional access to the Extra Value Drug List which features an additional 10-30% on over dozens of other name and generic drugs.

Not all tests are available at all Sam's Club locations and quantities are limited and tests are available while supplies last. Membership is not required for the health screenings but contact your local Sam's Club to see what tests they are offering. Locally Sam's Club can be found on 6700 E. Virginia St. in Evansville, IN.
