The "Pretty Little Liars" season 5 summer finale is only two weeks away. The upcoming episode has been trending like crazy on Twitter with the hashtag #FatalFinale. So what can fans expect when the episode airs? On Aug. 15, Entertainment Weekly spoke to executive producer Joseph Dougherty, who revealed major spoilers.
It turns out that the girls are done with Ali. As fans saw recently, they decided that they needed to go to Lieutenant Tanner and tell her that Alison lied about being kidnapped. The executive producer said that the Liars are still in the same frame of mind and are still determined to do it.
Another secret is coming out and it will change everything. Viewers will finally find out what Melissa has been hiding on the next episode. Melissa's secret will "permanently and definitively" answer a question about the night that Alison disappeared. Also, there will be flashbacks to that night. But this won't be the big bang in the summer finale. The executive producer teased,
"Well maybe we're just going to top that."
For fans of "Ravenswood," there are going to be answers. Dougherty said that they have been trying to figure out a way to tell fans what happened in a way that would be satisfying. Caleb is going to have to tell Hanna what happened after the last episode of "Ravenswood."
As for the future of the show, there will be no "PLL" Halloween special this year. Instead, there will be a "fan appreciation hour" during ABC Family's "13 Nights of Halloween." Also, viewers can look forward to a "Pretty Little Liars" Christmas episode. Showrunner Marlene King tweeted that she will not just be writing it, but will be directing it as well. The title of the holiday episode is "How the 'A' Stole Christmas."
Are you looking forward to the next two episodes of "Pretty Little Liars?" What do you think #FatalFinale means for Aria, Hanna, Spencer, Emily and the other characters?
