The season four summer finale of the popular AMC Family drama "Pretty Little Liars" left fans with a jaw dropping cliffhanger. The identity of the mysterious "A" was revealed. On Wednesday, August 28 TVLine posted an interview with executive producer Oliver Goldstick about what the new revelation means for the rest of season four, and the answers will probably shock Ezria fans.
In the episode, "A" was revealed to be none other than Aria's love interest and beloved English teacher Ezra Fitz. Goldstick revealed that the news is not a red herring and "there is something going on here with Ezra." Many fans are hoping that the reveal will turn out like the last season reveal that Toby was on the "A" team when really he just went along with Mona to help Spencer.
Apparently the Ezra reveal has been in the works since the beginning of season four and was developed as far back as the pilot, with small hints and important things sprinkled throughout each season. Everything will play out and be explained much better in the second half of season four. Goldstick describes Ezra as a jekyll and hyde type of character which will be "explosive and mind-blowing" as the season unfolds.
The reveal also means that Aria and her friends are in danger. Ezra's double life will affect his future with Aria and put her and her friends in danger in a way no other season has. Goldstick confirms what many fans was deducted, that "A" popped up in town the same time as Ezra. Tune in to find out more when "Pretty Little Liars" returns with its Halloween episode on October 22 at 8 p.m.
