'Pretty Little Liars' preview: Producers promise more mysteries ahead

On Thursday, at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour, the producers of “Pretty Little Liars” confirmed that they have always known who the “uber-A” behind the series’ mysteries is going to turn out to be.

“It’s very specific season to season,” Oliver Goldstick, one of the show’s executive producers, told reporters. “There are tent poles we create, but there are a lot of detours along the way.” Marlene King, another of the show’s executive producers, admitted that sometimes, “we’ve surprised ourselves with where some of the characters’ arcs go.”

King went on to say that part of the fun of the show is having the audience try to figure out who A really is and she insists they like not knowing the answer as they watch. “We have mysteries within the big mysteries. We give credible clues, little bits and pieces that seem to be enough to satisfy the fans.”

Do you agree with the producers? Is the audience happy not knowing? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

Pretty Little Liars” airs Tuesdays at 7 p.m. CST on ABC Family.
