It’s super exciting to see another music documentary film come out, especially one that features Denver’s Pretty Lights , Mark Ronson, DJ Premier, The Crystal Method, and Skrillex. Amir Bar Lev who made award-winning documentaries such as “The Tilman Story” and “My Kid Could Paint that” created a new one called RE:GENERATION. It looks like everything including the history, and the studio and songwriting processes that a myriad of different music genres by using the eyes of some today’s most influential electronic music producers.
The documentary, which is due out February 2012, follows each of these producers and bands to the homes for each of the genres, including Nashville, Boston, Los Angeles, Detroit, and New Orleans. While Denver’s own Pretty Lights was in Nashville, he helps create a cover of the classic “Wayfaring Stranger” with Dr. Ralph Stanley and LeAnn Rimes.
